Background Sos Childrens Villages Is An Organization Dedicated To The Care Of Children, Adolescents And Young People Who Have Lost Parental Care Or Are At Risk Of Losing It. We Recognize That This Situation Of Vulnerability Can Have Long-Term And In Some Cases Permanent Effects On Their Socio-Emotional, Physical And Intellectual Development. As Set Out In The Child And Youth Safeguarding Policy (2023), The Purpose Of Our Work Is "To Ensure A Safe And Enabling Environment For Children, Adolescents And Young People Without Or At Risk Of Losing Their Care, In Which They Can Establish Relationships Based On Trust And Receive Support To Be Strong And Resilient". This Policy, Together With Its Regulations, Constitutes A Binding Regulatory Framework That Defines The Minimum Standards Required Of All Individuals And Entities Working For Or On Behalf Of Sos Childrens Villages. Its Objective Is To Ensure That The Safety And Well-Being Of Children, Adolescents And Young People Guide All Our Actions. Child And Youth Safeguarding Is Understood As The Organisational Responsibility To Take All Necessary Measures To Ensure That Sos Childrens Villages Staff, Representatives, Operations And Programmes Do Not Cause Harm Or Expose Children To Risks And Young People. This Also Includes Responding Appropriately To Any Situation Of Harm, Even When It Is Caused By Peers Within The Care Setting. The Concept Of Harm Encompasses Abuse, Neglect And Exploitation, And Can Manifest Itself In A Variety Of Ways: As A Deliberate Act, An Accident, Or An Omission (E.G., Lack Of Proper Supervision). It Can Be Perpetrated By An Adult Or By A Peer. It Can Generate Real Damage Or Have A High Probability Of Causing It. For The Purposes Of This Consultancy, The Following Is Understood: Child Or Adolescent: A Person Under The Age Of 18, Regardless Of The Legal Age Of Majority Under Local Law. Young Person: Individual Between 18 And 24 Years Of Age. Adult Participant: A Person Over 18 Years Of Age Who Participates In Community, Humanitarian Care And Other Services, Without Being Under The Legal Responsibility Of Sos Childrens Villages. In Line With The Organisational Commitment To Safeguarding, A Toolbox Was Developed At The End Of 2024 And The Beginning Of 2025 To Facilitate The Understanding Of The Child And Youth Safeguarding Policy By The Participants. This Tool Includes Materials And Activities Aimed At School-Age Children, Organized By Age Groups: 810 Years, 1113 Years, And 1416 Years. In Order To Expand Its Scope, The Need Was Identified To Complement This Box With Specific Materials For The Following Groups: Early Early Early Childhood (47 Years) Youth (1924 Years) Adult Participants In The Services (Over 18 Years Of Age Who Leave Alternative Care And People Who Participate In Family Strengthening Services Or Humanitarian Action Projects), Effective June 18, 2025, The Scope Of Safeguarding Work Was Officially Expanded To Include Adult Community Participants. This Decision Responds To The Need To Consolidate A Culture Of Safeguarding, In Which All Participants Are Informed Of Our Commitment To The Promotion Of Safe And Protective Environments, Regardless Of Age. Religion, Ethnicity, Gender. For Adult Participants In The Communities, Content Related To Our Commitment To Care Contained In The Sexual Harassment, Exploitation And Abuse Prevention Policy (Pshea), As Well As Elements Of The Code Of Conduct Regulations, Must Be Included. 2. Objectives General: Design And Produce Complementary Materials For The Safeguarding Policy Toolbox, Aimed At The Aforementioned Groups, Ensuring Conceptual, Methodological And Graphic Coherence With The Existing Base Material. Specific: Design Materials For Children Aged 5-8 From Existing Products. Create Activities And Materials Aimed At Adult Participants In Sos Childrens Villages Services. Ensure That These Products Maintain A Unified And Consistent Graphic Line With The Base Material. 3. Methodology Consider That Consulting Is 100% Virtual. The Methodology Of The Proposal Should Consider The Following Factors: Framed In The Human Rights Approach, With A Gender Perspective, Intergenerational, Intersectional And Intercultural Approach, Youth And Functional Diversity Approach; It Must Also Be Elaborated From The Principles Of An Evolutionary Perspective, Complex Understanding And Situated Understanding. The Product(S) Must Be Friendly, Appropriate And Attractive For The Age And Developmental Stages Of The Aforementioned Age Groups. To Contemplate A Language That Is Accessible And As Neutral As Possible So That It Can Be Shared In The Countries That Make Up The Laam Region. Deliver The Materials And Their Contents In The Format Necessary For Digital Use, Printing (If Applicable) And Their Potential Editing And/Or Translation/Subtitling. Documentary Review: Child And Youth Safeguarding Policy (Psij), Child And Youth Safeguarding Regulations, Ready-Made Products Aimed At Participants From 8 To 14 Years Of Age, Regulations On Inappropriate Sexual Behavior, Code Of Conduct Regulations. The Consulting Team Will Have To Review Materials And Products Already Prepared By Member Associations In The Region For Their Adaptation. B. Second Moment: Adaptation Of The Contents And Pedagogical Mediation By The Consulting Team. Sending The Products To The Regional Team For Feedback. Products Design Of A Methodology For A Face-To-Face Session Aimed At Working With Children Aged 5-8 Years That Facilitates The Socialisation Of An (Already Existing) Story About Child Safeguarding And Protection. The Methodology Is Expected To Contain The Necessary Activities And Materials. Design Of Methodology For 3 Face-To-Face Mini-Workshops (2 Hours Each) Aimed At Working With Adult Participants On The Safeguarding Of Adults And The Relevance Of Ensuring Safe And Protective Environments In The Services Provided By Sos Childrens Villages.
