Project Detail |
Unimpeded trade in agricultural products is crucial for ensuring effective and timely access to food for all our people and promoting food security in the Asia-Pacific region. Minimizing barriers to trade, including in supply chains, can be beneficial for avoiding unnecessary food losses and supporting the efficiency of the food markets, considering that agricultural products are short-lived. In the context of advancing FTAAP agenda, the initiative on exploring best practices of facilitation of trade in agricultural products will be helpful for boosting economic integration among APEC economies and providing opportunities for multiple actors across the region, including those with untapped economic potential.
The initiative will address the capacity building needs through conducting an online workshop and preparing an analytical report on best practices of handling the issues of non-tariff measures (NTMs) in the context of trade in agricultural products. |
