Project Detail |
Significant transitions in global demographics and an increase in chronic diseases, combined with the growth of aging as well as underserved populations in various APEC economies, have resulted in greater global healthcare costs. In a post-pandemic world, APEC economies are exploring innovative digital health technologies to deliver seamless and connected healthcare services with an eye to equity and cost-efficiency. In 2024-25, the United States hopes to build upon the work undertaken in the APEC Health Working Group since 2021 regarding telehealth/telemedicine and digital health at-large that highlights opportunities to expand healthcare access through collaboration between the public and private sectors. Expanding the capacity and agility of APEC economies to adopt digital health solutions will drive innovation and improve the quality, coverage, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of health service delivery in the Asia Pacific region. |
