There are a wide range of global challenges to achieve food security. One of the most important issues is concerning climate change.
To address climate change agenda, it is useful and fruitful to
1) measure, collect and analyze accurate climate related data and utilize them by all stakeholders including producers, distributors, and consumers.
2) increase accountability on each stage of supply chains by using these data and enhance transparency to encourage responsible actions of all stakeholders.
3) promote data-driven policymaking and increase consumer awareness on agricultural products made in a sustainable manner.
In the workshop, APEC economies will share good practices on accurate data measurement methods and policies that will raise awareness among all stakeholders and strive to build sustainable and resilient supply chains in the APEC region to contribute to the achievement of food security. |
