As part of the More Resilient priority of the 2024 FMP Work Plan, Peru proposes to host, on the margins of the Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting, an in-person workshop on the recent developments in disaster risk financing to increase financial resilience to hydrometeorological risk, including an overview of what currently exists in the APEC region, and the latest innovations. The objectives of this project are to: 1) share experiences in financial protection to increase financial resilience to hydrometeorological risk, 2) discuss the importance of risk modeling for public sector in order to make informed decisions, and 3) expand the knowledge about the latest developments in risk financing.
APEC economies, international organizations and other stakeholders will be invited as speakers and participants during panel discussions and presentations during the workshop. Following the workshop, a short compendium of experiences and lessons learned, identified in this activity, as well as through the completion of a survey, will be prepared. |
