As part of the More Sustainable priority of the 2024 FMP Work Plan, Peru proposes to host, on the margins of the Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting, an in-person workshop on domestic carbon pricing measures to support climate goals under a comprehensive economic and financial sustainable approach. The objectives of this project are to: 1) provide basic concepts of carbon pricing and non-pricing instruments mechanisms, 2) discuss the key elements to promote investment opportunities for innovation and sustainability from carbon instruments, and 3) share good practices and lessons learned on the selection of carbon instruments according to own circumstances.
APEC economies, international organizations and other stakeholders will be invited as speakers and participants during panel discussions and presentations during the workshop. Following the workshop, a short compendium of experiences and lessons learned, identified in this activity, as well as through the completion of a survey, will be prepared. |
