Project Name Support for the reform of technical and vocational training in Kosovo
Project Detail Project KSV/020 constitutes the logical continuation of project KSV/015: “Support for the reform of vocational education and training in Kosovo”. It supports the reorganization and strengthening of the governance structure of the vocational education and training system in Kosovo through assistance in the following areas: responsibility and internal organization of actors involved in vocational training, business model for management of training centers, support for the development of public-private partnerships, digitalization of processes, etc. The project operates at the global level of vocational education and training (national level / ministry) as well as at the level of training establishments. For some specific sectors, this requires upgrading and reforming training centers to align them with trends in education demand. KSV/020 also supports the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation to redefine the long-term financing strategy of the vocational education and training sector and increase efficiency financial management in professional education and training establishments. Eight vocational education and training institutions are supported by the project in the above-mentioned areas. Professional training establishments specialized in the fields of health and economics represent an important point of the project in terms of the reproduction of practices and the capitalization of resources developed during the establishment of the “health competence center ” in Ferizaj and the Economy and Tourism Competence Center in Prizren as part of the KSV/015 project. The KSV/020 project places great importance on matching training and employment as well as modernizing the curricula offered by training centers in Kosovo. In addition to the revision of certain programs in the fields of hospitality and catering (among others), the project aims to create a skills center dedicated to information and communication technologies based in Pristina. This new establishment will constitute the first public skills center entirely dedicated to information and communication technologies in Kosovo. The intervention was developed based on the priorities set out in the Kosovo Education Strategic Plan 2017-2021 and its Action Plan, as well as the Kosovo National Development Strategy 2016-2021.
