Project Name Adaptation for Smallholder Agricultural Programme (ASAP)
Project Detail Description To provide knowledge and best practices to help over 6 million smallholder farmers in up to 43 countries adapt to climate change. Grants will be made to: build small scale water-harvesting, water storage and irrigation systems for farmers; provide farmers with improved seeds that are drought tolerant; help farmers access markets to sell their crops; to plant trees on farms and introduce soil and water conservation practices; and, enable farmers to access daily and seasonal weather forecasts (e.g. using text messages) so they know when best to plant and harvest crops.” Status - Implementation Actual Start 27 Nov 2012 Progress by time65.15% Planned End31 Dec 2023 Project Spend Spend to date£147,631,082 (98.40%) Project budget£150,024,100
