Work Detail Morocco wants to upgrade 20 of its airports by 2045 and has put out an international tender for a consultant to draw up a blueprint. Commissioned by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the study will update a 10-year-old one rendered obsolete by covid disruptions to air travel, business magazine La Vie Eco reports. It will examine each airport’s potential for expansion and how badly it needs modernising. Casablanca isn’t included because it’s undergoing a separate evaluation. The study will last about 14 months, and will include projected traffic patterns, individual airport development plans, financial estimates for infrastructure, and a priority list of projects by expected return on investment. Morocco’s aviation infrastructure has been given an extra boost by the country’s plan to host the 2030 World Cup, alongside Spain and Portugal. Last month, the Spanish engineer Ineco won a contract to oversee the expansion and modernisation of Casablanca International Airport.
