Bolivia Project Notice - Making Energy Supplies In Bolivia More Inclusive

Project Notice

PNR 71407
Project Name Making energy supplies in Bolivia more inclusive
Project Detail Program for “Strengthening the Energy Transition in Bolivia” (ProTransición) Approximately two-thirds of Bolivias electricity generation, currently, depends on natural gas. This situation entails economic risks due to market fluctuations and environmental impacts because of the increase of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As a result, the country needs a reliable source for electricity that does not harm the environment. Developing renewable energy sources could provide an eco-friendly and long-term alternative, thereby mitigating these challenges. The main challenge in this is transitioning to using renewable energy sources and using the necessary energy systems. Objective Improved financial, operational, and technical conditions have made electricity supplies in Bolivia more inclusive and reduced GHG emissions.
