Project Detail |
The project aims to deliver high-impact, life-saving essential health and nutrition services and cash assistance to the vulnerable population, with a particular focus on women and children. Through United Nations implementing agencies (UNICEF and UNOPS), the project will leverage their established partnerships with international and national non-governmental organizations, private entities, and community-based organizations (serving as implementing partners) to deliver services and assistance to beneficiaries. The project will implement a flexible service delivery strategy to suit the specific characteristics of different geographical contexts. The project will consist of two components: (a) Delivery of essential health, nutrition services and cash transfers (implemented by UNICEF), and (b) delivery of essential health and nutrition services (implemented by UNOPS). Both UNICEF and UNOPS will be delivering essential health and nutrition services. This is done with the objective of reaching more people by leveraging each agency’s geographical coverage and large network of implementation partners. Each agency has a defined geographical coverage, and a coordination mechanism will be in place to ensure this. In addition, UNICEF will also be implementing cash transfers which will target selected townships across UNICEF and UNOPS geographical coverage areas.
