The project aims to solve an environmental problem caused by the excessive use of agrochemicals in the communitys traditional gardens, to replace it with a comprehensive management system of agroecological production of sustainable free-range hens over time, which covers from the rescue of the breed of hens for the production of meat and eggs, their preservation and artisanal agricultural production of nutrients as a source of protein food that they require. These have unique characteristics of adaptation to the local environment, in their nutrition and with greater resistance to diseases, giving it importance from the point of view of cultural management as food security, with the inclusion of women and youth in the production process, under the focus of responsible production and consumption. We will work with 10 producers and their families, who have traditional knowledge in chicken raising, strengthening their capacities, providing technical support, restoring their traditional chicken coops, establishing protein banks, developing artisanal food formulas for birds and raising free-range hens, generating sustainable livelihoods. |
