The Geospatial Infrastructure for Sustainable Territorial Development Project (GISTDP) aims to bring Uzbekistan in line with international good practice in geospatial data availability and use, supporting a shift towards increased digitalization of government services. The project will have three components: Component A will support the development and operationalization of the countrys National Spatial Data Infrastructure (UZ-NSDI) to enable the sharing and use of geospatial data, including the design of the UZ-NSDI architecture, the establishment of three data centers (in existing buildings), data standardization, and the creation of a national and a regional geoportal, as well as support stakeholder institutions that provide data for UZ-NSDI, through technical assistance and the provision of IT infrastructure; Component B will support enhancement of geospatial infrastructure and data, including the Continuously Operating Reference System (CORS), by providing GNSS equipment and establishment of 80 new CORS stations (in existing facilities), the quality of fundamentals geospatial data sets, IT and surveying equipment and software for automate and effective data collection and quality control, enhancement of the registry-cadastre system (UzKAD), and the piloting of innovative tools and systems for data collection and management in Samarkand city, including the piloting of a 3D City Model. The project will further support an inventory and field data collection in Samarkand city for the establishment of the national address register and the utility cadastre. Component C will support institutional capacity building and project management. The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve the availability and accessibility of geospatial data in Uzbekistan. |
