The Farana Bridge on National Highway No. 2, which will be replaced in this project, is used by many vehicles and pedestrians traveling between the capital Conakry and the Forest Guinea region as a transportation hub between the two regions. In addition, Guineas economy has been growing at an average of over 6% since 2016, and traffic volume is expected to continue to increase in the future. This project will replace the Farana Bridge with a two-lane bridge that can withstand the mutual traffic of heavy vehicles and ensure the safety of traffic on the Farana Bridge, thereby strengthening connectivity between regions and stabilizing domestic logistics, including agricultural products and daily commodities, and through the functional enhancement of National Route 2, an international corridor connecting to the bridge, the project will also The project also aims to facilitate logistics to Guinea and neighboring countries by strengthening the functions of National Highway No. 2, an international corridor that connects to the bridge. Purpose of the Project This project aims to replace the dilapidated single-lane bridge over the Niger River, the third largest river in Africa, with a two-lane bridge in Falana City on National Route 2, which connects the capital Conakry with the Forest Guinea region, to ensure traffic safety and improve transport services on National Route 2, thereby enhancing inter-regional connectivity and facilitating logistics to Guinea and neighboring countries.
