The project aims to build capacity of the 51 Community Protected Areas (CPA) committee members the four targeted CPAs (Prey Thom CPA, Phnom Balang CPA, Damnak khnach Trach CPA and Phnom Pork CPA) to sustainable use and management of 11,295 ha by restructuring of 4 CPAs management committees who their mandate were due, update CPA internal rules and Regulations and provide training courses include a study tour to a successful CPA to learn on Community management plan, resources mobilization, running od eco-tourism and management of the saving groups. Project will also provide support to produce and place 24 big CPA demarcation cement poles and 78 small cement poles around the 4 CPAs areas and plant 12,500 luxury tree species with the involvement from technical departments, local authority, school students and teachers and CPA members. Monitoring and maintaining the surviving rate of the small trees planted will be the responsibilities of the 51 CPA committee members. To protect sourcesof water in the 4 targeted CPAs, the project will put 4 education signboards and dissemination on the advantages of sources of water for forest as well as their livelihood to most of the 4 CPA members. Moreover, to improve livelihood of 50 CPA members (50% women), the project will provide Fish and chicken raising technical training and provide support to 4 farmers to become a model farm where other farmers can learn from them. Project also provide support to 46 farmers to apply fish and chicken raising techniques they have learned and link them to marketing networks to sell their products. To provide more capital to women to create more livelihood options, four saving groups will be established and built their capacity to run and manage the saving groups.
