A sovereign loan of up to EUR 42 million to the Republic of Turkiye represented by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, which will be on-granted to Osmaniye Municipality in Turkiye (Municipality), to finance construction of a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) with a capacity of 75,000m3/day in the city of Osmaniye (Project). Project Objectives The project aims to increase the wastewater treatment capacity and to improve the effluent quality in Osmaniye, a region severely impacted by the catastrophic earthquakes of February 2023, by financing the construction of a new WWTP. The project seeks to achieve EU effluent standards for wastewater quality in Osmaniye and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The project is expected to improve essential services in the region and support the long-term resilience and sustainability of the citys infrastructure. |
