VSPC Advanced Cathode Powder Manufacturing Demonstration Project |

VSPC will commercialise its advanced cathode powder manufacturing process by constructing a 250 tonne per annum (tpa) demonstration facility. Need Currently, cathode active material (CAM) manufacturing for lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) and lithium manganese ferro phosphate (LMFP) batteries is almost exclusively located in China. Chinese manufacturers generally use either solid or solution-phase synthesis methods. VSPC has developed a proprietary and patented CAM manufacturing process (i.e. the RC Process) which is able to combine the advantages of both the solid-state and solution-phase synthesis methods to produce LFP and LMFP powders. The RC Process has greater flexibility in control of product characteristics and quality, reduced manufacturing costs, and reduced waste in comparison to typical Chinese processes. |
