Project Detail |
Bridging gaps in global area studies Area studies often struggle with fragmented approaches, making it difficult to fully understand critical global and regional issues. Non-European regions and eastern Europe face rapid changes, yet research often lacks a comprehensive, multidisciplinary perspective. This limits the ability to inform public debates, support decision-making and address societal challenges. Institutions in Widening countries also face gaps in funding and research excellence compared to leading global centres. In this context, the EU-funded ERA-AREAS project aims to solve these issues by creating the Centre for Multidisciplinary Area Studies, or CEMAS, at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University (CUFA) in Prague. The project brings together top researchers to study critical trends. It strengthens CUFA’s global role, fosters collaboration and ensures lasting research excellence. |
