Since 2011, the Ministry of the Interior has undertaken, with the support of UNDP, a process of reform of the security sector, which has enabled considerable progress to be made, particularly with regard to the Tunisian model of community policing, the promotion of the legal and institutional framework of the security sector, improving aspects of the integration of the gender approach and equal opportunities between women and men, accountability, ethics, integrity and respect for human rights. However, the current socio-economic context, aggravated by the repercussions of health crises, is characterized by major challenges related to the quality of life and security of the community [...], means that efforts in security sector governance are still relevant and should be consolidated and promoted.
