This is a rockfall mitigation project located near the Paonia Reservoir on Colorado Highway 133 between Paonia and Carbondale in Gunnison County. The rockfall mitigation work will include adding rock bolting (soil nail walls), mesh, rock scaling and ditch cleaning in four locations between Mile Points 24 to 31 near the Paonia Reservoir. The project will: Decrease the potential of rockfall hazard for traveling motorists, improving travel safety on the highway Protect highway infrastructure from damage by lowering the amount of debris reaching the highway |
