| Project Detail |
The purpose of the project is to improve safety, local access efficiency, and mobility along CO 92 in Hotchkiss, Colorado. The project goals are to: Resurface the existing pavement Add shoulders to both sides of the highway Improve drainage infrastructure and ditches Implement an interim access control plan to reduce the number of potential conflict points Shoulders will be reconstructed to four feet. This was found to be the most cost-effective way to still provide safety improvements that were identified Studies have shown a 30% to 60% reduction in crashes on roadways where access management techniques are implemented |
