Project No. PPSTI_202_2024A Project Title APEC Meeting on Climate Resilient City – Navigating the Power of Science and Technology for Climate Resilient APEC Project Status Project in Implementation The climate challenge is significant. Economic development and sustainability can be severely impacted by climate extremes and natural disasters. Refer to 2023 PSU Annual Report, extensive interruptions to daily livelihood, lifeline systems, critical infrastructure or education cripple APEC and lead to the week business and vulnerable digital economy. Understanding the societal challenges and taking proactive actions is a must for disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA), ACTS strives to leverage science, technology and innovation (STI) smart policy for resilience on enhancing APEC connectivity. In light of the PPSTI 06 2022S project outputs on guiding principles for climate resilient city initiatives, this project aims to contribute to the APEC family on identifying common interests for exploring better STI smart strategies, policy and counte-rmesaures through cross-fora networking for synergy in support of decision and policy making on gender equality to overcome environmental and societal challenges for a resilient APEC on “build back better” through public private partnership (PPP). |
