Project Detail |
Seasonal mobile workers (SMWs) are at increased risk of acquiring malaria infections due to various factors; i.e. absence and inadequacy of appropriate malaria prevention and case management services; lack of clarity around roles and responsibilities in providing case management; disjointed policies and marginalisation.
The overall objective of the Sennay project is to contribute to reducing malaria morbidity and mortality in five districts in the Amhara region by 2025 and eliminate malaria by 2030, by targeting this specific population. The project will increase coverage and quality of malaria services to almost 40,000 SMWs per year, advocate for the adoption of an implementation manual on provision of malaria services to SMWs, increase demand and uptake of malaria preventive and treatment services and foster SMWs engagement in shaping malaria prevention and control interventions.
The project will be implemented by Health, Development and Anti-Malaria Association (HDAMA), in partnership with Malaria Consortium. |
