Project Notice

Project Name Enhanced Delivery of Demand-driven Skills Development for Investment in Africa
Project Detail This project aims to meet the human capital needs of investment and value and supply chain development programs in selected sub-Saharan African countries. Its specific objective is to improve demand-driven skills development and TVET services so that they are able to meet the investment needs of selected sub-Saharan African countries. To this end, it intends to implement targeted skills development and vocational training programs. If it contributes to improving the investment climate in certain African countries, it is above all an action focused on opportunities, aimed at transforming investment into a lever for inclusive economic growth, social and creation of decent jobs. Investment flows from the European Union to African countries provide national economies with the means to increase their added value and increase their contribution to job creation at local level. The implementation of the action will be structured around three areas of intervention. The first will aim to advance the dialogue on skills development and employment-oriented TVET between vocational training establishments, companies, national institutions and relevant associations benefiting from European investments, such as the European Commissions investment in sub-Saharan Africa. The second will aim to build capacity and provide training needed for skills development and demand-driven TVET, by offering, among other activities, support to local training providers and strengthening in-house training. The third will seek to stimulate knowledge exchange on lessons learned from practical experience of skills development and employment-oriented TVET in investment contexts. This multi-donor project is co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project will be implemented by Enabel, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev), the British Council (BC), Expertise France (EF) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), a consortium led by Enabel .
