Project ID 230002 Thematic Priority Advancing Economic Competitiveness Originated in the framework of GMIS 2021 legacy initiative and following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic – and the associated economic, environmental, and social effects –, UNIDO discussed with relevant partners the opportunity to establish a UNIDO International Centre for Industry Readiness based in the UAE. The Centre aims to support the health industry to enable prompt, flexible and effective responses to future pandemics and emergency crisis. This will be achieved by promoting advanced technologies and good practices in manufacturing health products, facilitating global partnerships, and sharing innovative solutions. The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH), and the Global Mice Organization Limited (GMOL) are the main UNIDO partners in this initiative. The initiative at large comprises three intervention stages: design, piloting, and scaling-up phases. The present project addresses the design phase providing a demand-offer analysis and the Terms of Reference for the Centre (including: business plan, financial plan, resource mobilization plan, outreach plan and impact analysis), and a roadmap to the subsequent stages of the initiative |
