With the overall objective to promote stabilization in Iraq, this project will: 1) strengthen the capacity of the General Directorate of Survivors’ Affairs (GDSA) from the GoI and CSOs for dialogue and advocacy for the accountability of CRSV and other international crimes. To contribute to the effectiveness of the dialogue and advocacy efforts, IOM will 1a) provide technical assistance and capacity building to the GDSA to lead this process and 1b) aid survivors and civil society to consolidate their participation in the dialogue about accountability for genocide and CAH in Iraq. 2) strengthen the capacity of government institutions and CSOs to provide mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services to address the needs of beneficiaries of the Survivors Law. IOM will support the GDSA and local civil society actors to deliver MHPSS services through two key components, including 2a) training and financial support to organizations currently providing MHPSS assistance, who will be part of the referral system; and, 2b) development of the MHPSS programme for the Directorate of the MHPSS Centre in Sinuni. |
