This initiative is related to Program #5: Agricultural Health, Safety and Quality of Agrifood of the IICA Medium Term Plan (PMP) 2022-2026. Its context is based on supporting the National Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality Service of Mexico (SENASICA) in activities related to animal health, examined in slaughterhouses and certified establishments, such as Federal Inspection Type Establishment (TIF) and in Animal health verification, mainly. This TIF Establishment consists of a certification regulated by the Secretary of Agriculture of Mexico where the packaging, packaging, refrigeration and industrialization of goods of animal origin for human consumption are analyzed; this way, General objective: Strengthen the National Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality Service (SENASICA), to reduce animal health risks in animals as well as their products in slaughterhouses and certified establishments such as Federal Inspection Type (TIF) and in animal health verification at source. Specific objectives: At the concrete and specific request of SENASICA, manage private resources to cover personnel expenses and coordinate technical verification activities for animals and livestock products in the countries of origin Control the animal health risk in the importation of animals through technical verification activities of animals and in the countries of origin Control the health and safety risk in the importation of meat products, through technical verification activities of animals and livestock products in the countries of origin Control the animal health risk in the import and/or export of animals for the production of meat, viscera or offal, through technical verification activities of animals in the countries of origin, or in Mexican slaughterhouses and slaughterhouses to guarantee the health and safety of import and/or export products.
