Objectives and Scope The project aims to bring quality health care to middle-class Mongolians and improve medical accessibility for distant communities. The existing facility is hitting capacity limits and faces overcrowding and compromised patient care during peak periods. ADBs financing will also support Mongolias leading hospital to maintain international standards of patient care, reduce the need for Mongolians to travel abroad for tertiary treatment, expand health care services to rural areas, and enhance womens employability in the high-value medical profession. Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The project is aligned with the strategic objective of ADBs Country Partnership Strategy for Mongolia, 20212024 of fostering inclusive social development and economic opportunity that prioritizes access to finance and access to health for nonsovereign operations. This project is ADBs first private sector financing to a Mongolian hospital and complements ADBs long-standing knowledge, technical assistance, and operations in the countrys health sector. |
