The Project will address the capacity constraints of the existing airport by expanding the airport facilities to meet the growing demand for air travel for business and tourism. The locational advantage, large population and rapid regional economic development will enable XXIA to become an aviation hub for domestic and international routes. The Project also aims to develop XXIA as a comprehensive transportation hub by enabling multi-modal connection with other transport modes.
Project Description
The Project comprises construction of two new runways with associated taxiway system, relocation and extension of existing runway, construction of new apron, terminal building, ground transportation center, cargo facilities, supporting infrastructure and other associated facilities. After expansion, XXIA will be able to handle passenger traffic of 83 million and cargo traffic of 1 million tonnes annually. |
