Project Name Support for the partnership between the Center for Renewable Energies and Industrial Maintenance (CERMI) and the Building Technical Engineering Competence Center (CdC-GTB)
Project Detail The CVE / 085 “Support for partnership between the Center for Renewable Energies and Industrial Maintenance and the Luxembourg Building Technical Engineering Competence Center (CERMI / CdC-GTB)” project is part of the “Employment and Employability of the 2016-2020 Indicative Cooperation Program (PIC) signed between the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Republic of Cabo Verde. It is funded to the tune of 3,800,000 EUR by the development cooperation fund for a period of three years (2018-2021). CERMI_training.jpg CERMI training activities The intervention entrusted by mandate by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE) to LuxDev aims to support the implementation of a partnership between a Cape Verdean entrepreneurial public company, the Center for Renewable Energies and Industrial Maintenance of Cabo Verde (CERMI) and a Luxembourg economic interest group (GIE), CdC-GTB. CERMI_solarpanels_copy.jpgCenter for Renewable Energies and Industrial Maintenance (CERMI) This innovative project aims to create a public limited company (SA) under Cape Verdean law, the Cape Verdean Competence Center “CdC-3C”, in several phases. The CdC-3C is called to become a center of excellence that will host and implement the educational model of the CdC-GTB in Cabo Verde. In parallel with training activities, consultancy centers are planned to complete the envisaged system, the first of which concerns educational engineering activities and the second in engineering and consultancy in energy efficiency / renewable energies. The poles in the fields of certification, metrology and research / development / innovation (RDI) complete this system. LuxDev, which entrusted part of the implementation of the project to the CdC-GTB (execution agreement CVE / 085 • 18 1974), retains a key role by ensuring: support for the structuring of this complex partnership; monitoring the establishment of the technical assistance mechanism provided for in the execution agreement; monitoring of financial execution; monitoring the execution of the CdC-3C business plan; conducting assessments and audits; certain acquisitions, at the request of CERMI or CdC-GTB. The project also has very strong links with the CVE / 081 program (employment and employability) and the project funded by the European Union CVE / 881 (strengthening of the regional anchoring of the center for renewable energies in Cabo Verde). It has established solid synergies with the CVE / 082 (water and sanitation) and CVE / 083 (renewable energies) programs.
