The development objective of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Development Project for India is to help improve urban services in Andhra Pradesh and the capacity of the participating urban local body (ULBs) to sustain and expand urban services. The changes include: (i) reflecting division of the project between the two successor states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as a result of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, following the Andhra Pradesh state reorganization act, 2014; (ii) consequent change in name of project to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana municipal development project; (iii) consequent revisions to some of the activities included under the different components; (iv) extension of closing date to December 15, 2017; (v) deletion of state finance study in component one and addition of urban planning and sector specific studies; (vi) corresponding revisions to the project s results framework and disbursement schedule; and (vii) a new project agreement to be entered into with the Telangana state. |
