Project Name REFUGEES RELY ON HYDROPONICS
Project Detail The internally displaced people in Camp Zamzam in North Darfur, Sudan, have hardly any income opportunities. There is no access to land and water, and consequently there is a lack of healthy food. Welthungerhilfe has therefore launched a hydroponics project. With this cultivation method the plants get their nutrients from a nutrient solution instead of from the soil. 150 particularly vulnerable households in Zamzam grow vegetables and cattle feed in this way.
