Project Detail |
The Nourished Families through Innovative Practices and Environmental Responsibility project promotes actions for the implementation of traditional gardens and the implementation of a hydroponic garden model. This will enable families to achieve the nutrition of children and young people with disabilities, supporting their comprehensive development. Parents also adopt environmentally friendly practices, such as the rational use of water and the use of organic fertilizer to achieve the production of vegetables and legumes most common in the municipality of Santiago Atitlán. The implementation of gardens with families is also considered a therapeutic activity, since the completion of tasks such as preparation, cleaning, planting, maintenance, and production stimulates the mental and psychomotor development of children with disabilities. Furthermore, the activities of implementing the family garden promote a space for family coexistence. |
