The double track from Oslo will be completed in 2026, but this section did not receive money for start-up in the state budget for 2018. The reason is that the government will see the stretch in connection with the next stretch until Åkersvika in Stange, south of Hamar.
Bane NOR will build almost 16 kilometers of double track from Kleverud to Sørli (Stange municipality) and new Tangen station when the money comes. In addition, a three-kilometer tunnel will be built between Kleverud and Espa, and Norways longest railway bridge, which will carry the trains the 1,070 meters from Espa over Tangenvika.
In the summer of 2016, the zoning plan for the stretch from Espa to Sørli was approved by the municipal council in Stange.
In 2010, the zoning plan for the three-kilometer long Hestnest tunnel from Kleverud to Espa was adopted, in connection with the planning of the joint project.
