The Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin a bridge rehabilitation project in January 2019 on the Crescent Beach Bridge at State Road 206 over the Matanzas River in St. Johns County. The rehabilitation project includes cathodic protection and replacement of the fishing pier. The fishing pier will be closed in the spring during demolition and reconstruction work and will be considered an active construction zone. Freyssinet, Inc. is estimated to complete the improvements by late 2019, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. To minimize traffic impacts during construction, lane closures will not be allowed 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Lanes may be closed intermittently to allow access of concrete pumping trucks and equipment during construction. The bridge will not be closed to complete work unless unforeseen circumstances occur. |
