The government of Algeria (SONELGAZ SPE) has plans to build six new combined-cycle power plants throughout the country by 2017 to meet the growing demand of electricity.
The Naama project is one of the six projects consisting of four combined cycle units with a total capacity of 1,163 MWe
Amec Foster Wheeler’s licensee, BHI, will be supplying the four heat recovery steam generating units (HRSGs) for the Naama project which will be installed behind four GE-9FA gas turbines firing natural gas.
Each HRSG will produce 123 MWe of steam turbine power.
