We are awaiting the go-ahead from the Federal Government to continue work. Our revised design takes a holistic approach to floodwater management, with an 8km long, 250m wide bypass channel capable of dealing with catastrophic, once-in-a-century flood events with a peak flow as high as 4,000m3/sec. As well as the bypass channel, the project will also include water retention ponds, bundings, telemetry equipment, sluice gates and other associated works. Construction is expected to take between 60 and 72 months. |
