| Project Name | A short step from improved WASH to healthier communities |
| Project Detail | The project will support LIFT’s goal “to contribute to the national goal of sustainably reducing the number of people living in poverty and hunger in Myanmar” by providing convenient water supply – time-consuming water collection greatly contributes to poverty – which will allow communities to get their family’s water requirement quickly, freeing up the rest of the day for livelihoods activities to earn much-needed cash. Healthy people are better able to absorb nutrients in food than those suffering from water/sanitation-related disease, particularly worms which rob their host of calories; children are most vulnerable to those diseases. All project interventions will be centered on contributing to reduce child stunting in all targeted villages. |
