The project calls for construction of a new clean coal power plant. The total production capacity will reach 1,200MW. This will produce 12% of Dubais total power output, according to the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, formulated by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. Schedule | Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has issued a request for tenders for the new clean coal power plant. The production capacity will reach 1,200MW, which will be carried out in two 600MW phases, with the first phase to be completed by 2020, and the second by 2021.
