With the final layer of asphalt applied this Tuesday, May 20th, at kilometer 140, the province of Santa Fe completed the complete paving of Provincial Route No. 3. This achievement represents a historic milestone for the Vera department, connecting its entire stretch from the city of Vera to Los Amores, on the border with the province of Chaco, by paved road. Construction began at the beginning of the 21st century, with the first section between Vera and Toba. From there, paving progressed gradually over successive provincial administrations, reaching towns such as Garabato, Intiyaco, Golondrina, Los Tábanos, and Cañada Ombú. Finally, the final section to Los Amores sealed the road integration of northern Vera, a region that for decades suffered from a lack of adequate infrastructure. The project, which included foundation work, stabilization, asphalt paving, signage, and final compaction, was carried out with heavy road machinery in coordination with provincial technical teams. Although some minor complementary tasks remain to be completed, the main route is now operational, consolidating a key artery for connectivity, transportation, and economic development in the region. The provincial government emphasized that this project not only improves traffic and reduces travel times, but will also allow for more fluid integration of the communities in northern Santa Fe with the rest of the country. It also represents an improvement in access to basic services, the circulation of local products, and emergency response. The complete paving of Route 3 is considered a promise fulfilled and a symbol of perseverance. Local leaders have already highlighted May 20th as a day that will mark a turning point for generations of residents of the department. “Route 3, fully connected, is more than infrastructure: it is progress, integration, and a future for all Vera residents,” summarized one of the community leaders. These types of structural projects, carried out consistently over time, help consolidate more equitable territorial development, strengthening roots in rural areas and boosting regional production, especially in the agricultural and livestock sectors that depend on reliable routes for logistics. |
