Work Detail Cadeler has announced the acquisition of the Boqiang 3060 , a newly built jack-up wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV), from Shanghai Boqiang Heavy Industry Group. The vessel, which will be renamed Wind Keeper , is intended to strengthen Cadeler’s fleet and support the growing global demand for offshore wind turbine operations and maintenance. Completed in 2024, the vessel is equipped with a Huisman main crane capable of lifting 2,200 tonnes, Kongsberg’s DP2 dynamic positioning system, MAN engines and a Siemens propulsion system. Its 120-metre-long jack-up legs allow it to operate in complex offshore environments. Cadeler expects to take delivery of Wind Keeper in the third quarter of 2025. Before entering service, the vessel will undergo upgrades to enhance its operational capabilities and standardise systems across the fleet. Once upgraded, it will be able to support installations in the 15 MW turbine segment. The acquisition is being fully debt-financed through a facility provided by DNB Bank ASA.
