New York State has finalised contracts for 26 new large-scale land-based renewable energy projects expected to generate more than 2.5 GW of capacity and approximately 5,000 gigawatt-hours annually once operational. The contracts result from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) 2024 Tier 1 Renewable Energy Standard solicitation. Payments under the contracts will commence only after each project is constructed, permitted, and begins delivering electricity. Several projects are already under construction, and all are expected to be operational by 2029.
