The request for information seeks to identify companies interested in producing wind systems or their components in the country, with the goal of supplying the national and regional markets and consolidating a network of suppliers for the green hydrogen industry. The Chilean Production Development Corporation (Corfo) has launched a request for information (RFI) process for national and international companies interested in installing production lines for wind power systems and their components in Chile. This initiative aims to strengthen the clean technology supply chain and facilitate the development of the green hydrogen industry, a sector the country considers strategic for diversifying its energy mix and expanding its presence in international markets. The program of activities establishes that the period for consultations and clarifications will remain open until June 11, while responses to inquiries will be delivered within a maximum of 10 business days from receipt. The closing date for the Request for Information (RFI) process for submitting documentation is July 30, and the publication of the RFI results will take place on August 18. The main objective of the RFI process is to identify interested parties in manufacturing wind turbines in Chile, as well as to understand the conditions under which they could be installed and operated. Companies must present background information on their experience, projects under development, technological requirements, business models, infrastructure needs, and investment estimates. Corfo has determined that, once the information-gathering phase is complete, it will launch a formal call for proposals (RFP) to finalize manufacturing projects in the country. In this second phase, companies must detail their initiatives and may access incentives and benefits, as well as specific financing instruments. The RFI phase is non-binding, but allows Corfo to design support policies and strategies tailored to the needs identified in the sector. The development of the green hydrogen value chain in Chile requires the integration of local and international suppliers, as well as overcoming economic, technological, and regulatory challenges. Recent studies have identified 103 renewable hydrogen projects in the country, primarily in the regions of Antofagasta, Valparaíso, Metropolitana, Biobío, and Magallanes. However, the industry still relies heavily on imported components and equipment, which limits its competitiveness and ability to respond to national and regional demand. The National Green Hydrogen Strategy sets ambitious goals, such as achieving 5 GW of electrolysis capacity by 2025 and 25 GW by 2030, which requires a robust network of suppliers and manufacturers across the country.
