GameChange Solar, a global leader in solar tracker and fixed-tilt racking technology, has announced that it has achieved a Level 4 Certification under South Africa’s Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) framework. This achievement highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to promoting inclusive economic development and empowering local communities in the region. The certification reflects GameChange Solar’s efforts across all five focus areas of the B-BBEE framework: ownership, management control, skills development, enterprise and supplier development, and socio-economic development. Through its initiatives, the company has supported several training and educational programs, including learnerships, technical bursaries, and entrepreneurship training, particularly aimed at youth and individuals with disabilities. GameChange Solar has also emphasized local engagement in its operations. The company has worked with small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) across its value chain, achieving up to 90% local content in its products. Additionally, it has prioritized partnerships with Black-owned businesses, Black female-owned enterprises, and businesses representing Black-designated groups as part of its inclusive procurement strategy. Sibulele Dlova, General Manager at Sub-Saharan Africa, GameChange Solar, stated, “Achieving Level 4 status is not just a compliance milestone; it reflects our long-term commitment to South Africa’s economic transformation. We are proud of the role we’ve played in supporting supplier development, strengthening local manufacturing, and expanding access to skills and opportunities where they’re needed most.” The company has also partnered with South Africa’s Youth Employment Service (YES) Program to create job opportunities and provide specialized training in renewable energy. This initiative helps equip young South Africans with valuable industry skills and addresses the country’s high youth unemployment rates. As GameChange Solar continues to expand its footprint across Sub-Saharan Africa, it remains focused on supporting its customers and partners while aligning with the region’s clean energy ambitions. The company’s approach is rooted in sustainable, inclusive practices that contribute to local development and long-term energy transformation. |
