Work Detail The agreement includes the PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled battery system for the project located in the Tarapacá region. Zelestra has contracted Sungrow to supply battery storage technology for a 1 GWh system at the Aurora project in Chiles Tarapacá region. The agreement includes Sungrows PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled battery system and medium-voltage power conversion units. The battery installation will be part of a hybrid project that includes a 220 MWdc solar plant, also using Sungrow equipment. Construction has begun at the Aurora site. According to project documents, the facility will generate approximately 600 GWh of electricity per year. Deliveries of battery units are planned to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. The projects goal is to provide energy storage that allows solar-generated electricity to be available during nighttime hours. Abastible, a Chilean energy company primarily known for its liquefied natural gas operations, signed a power purchase agreement with Zelestra last March for the projects output . This is an important milestone for the Aurora project, said Leo Moreno, CEO of Zelestra, in a statement. Jack Gu, vice president of Sungrow, noted that the project represents one of the most significant hybrid projects in Latin America. Zelestra claims to have more than 7 GW of renewable energy projects in various phases throughout Latin America. Sungrow, based in China, manufactures power conversion equipment for renewable energy applications and has been in operation since 1997.
