Orsted, PGE choose company to ensure investor supervision over the offshore part of 1.5GW Polish project Ayesa Polska has signed an agreement for investor supervision for the offshore part of the Baltica 2 wind farm project being built by PGE and Orsted in the Baltic Sea. Baltica 2 will have a total capacity of 1.5GW and is one of the largest planned offshore wind farms in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. The developers plan to build 107 turbines with a capacity of 14MW each, which will be distributed over an area of ??approximately 190 square kilometres. The nearest turbine will be located approximately 40km from the shore. The wind farm infrastructure includes four offshore transformer stations. For its role in the project, Ayesa Polska will ensure investor supervision over the entire offshore part of the project. This includes the process of installing turbines, foundations, export cables and offshore transformer stations. In March, consultancy ABL was contracted by PGE and Orsted to provide marine warranty survey services to support the offshore construction of Baltica 2. ABL’s scope of work covers the marine transportation and offshore installation of the 107 turbines. The Baltica 2 wind farm project is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2027. |
