HBL Engineering Limited (HBL) has been awarded significant contracts by the Western Railway for the provision and implementation of the indigenous automatic train protection system, Kavach. The Western Railway has issued Letters of Acceptance (LOAs) to HBL for deploying Kavach across an extensive network spanning 428 kilometers and encompassing 48 railway stations. The total value of these contracts amounts to ?145.83 Crores, inclusive of the 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST). This significant order underscores the Western Railways commitment to enhancing passenger safety through the deployment of advanced technology. Kavach, an indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), is designed to significantly reduce the risk of train accidents by automatically applying brakes if a driver fails to do so in time. The implementation of this system across a substantial portion of the Western Railway network will contribute significantly to safer train operations and enhanced passenger confidence. This win for HBL Engineering highlights the companys expertise and capabilities in providing critical railway safety solutions and marks an important step forward in the widespread adoption of the Kavach system across the Indian Railways network. The implementation of Kavach on this scale is expected to improve operational efficiency and safety for millions of passengers traveling on the Western Railway. |
