Work Detail The Chilean company announced its connection to the CVC Energía distribution system in the Ica region. Andes Solar, a Chilean renewable energy developer, has announced the connection of its Villacurí solar plant to the CVC Energía distribution system in the Salas district of Ica province. The project, with an installed capacity of 13 MWp, is the companys first in Peru. The plant was built following the signing of a contract between Andes Solar and CVC Energía, a Peruvian company dedicated to electricity distribution, especially in the agro-industrial sector. The development included the installation of trackers, photovoltaic modules, and four transformer stations, all of which are now operational and injecting power into the grid. The project, which began in the second half of 2024 , used assembly techniques that eliminate the use of concrete, which expedited construction and adapted to the characteristics of the terrain in Ica, one of the regions with the greatest investment in renewable energy in the country. According to Andes Solar, this milestone consolidates the viability of small- and medium-scale solar projects in Peru. The companys Business and International Manager, Martín Valenzuela, emphasized that the Villacurí plant will be a pioneer in the growth of clean generation in the country, offering operation and maintenance (O&M) services. CVC Energía, for its part, manages a network of approximately 500 kilometers of 22.9 kV power and 320 substations in its concession areas, and has invested in solar energy as part of its portfolio diversification and modernization strategy. According to the International Energy Agency (Irena), Peru ended 2024 with an estimated 528 MW of installed photovoltaic capacity. According to the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM), by 2028, 14 photovoltaic projects will be built and injected into the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN), which will total 2,447 MW .
