Iraqs Minister of Industry and Minerals, Prof. Eng. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, alongside the Governor of Karbala, oversaw the signing of three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for strategic projects in Karbala Industrial City during an official visit to the province on Saturday. The agreements were signed between Al-Yusra Industrial, the developer of Karbala Industrial City, and Chinas SEPCO [Shandong Electric Power Construction], and cover the construction of four petrochemical plants, infrastructure development, and the operation and maintenance of production units. Minister Al-Najm stated that Karbala Industrial City will become a milestone for Iraqs industrial sector, marking a qualitative leap in the provinces investment environment and supporting local industries. He highlighted that the city spans 5,300 dunams, has reached 60% completion, and enjoys a strategic location - just 3 km from the Development Road and close to the Karbala Refinery, facilitating the transport of raw materials and finished products. The Minister emphasized that the city is poised to attract more petrochemical and oil-related manufacturing projects, transforming it into a promising economic hub. He also reaffirmed the governments readiness to remove obstacles and ensure the success of these vital initiatives. |
