According to data from the National Electric Energy Agency, 55,700 new micro and mini distributed generation (MMGD) systems were installed in March alone, representing an increase of 584.36 MW. São Paulo led the growth with 31,616 systems in operation, totaling 273.88 MW. The micro and mini distributed generation (MMGD) systems installed by March 2025 were responsible for the installation of 2.13 GW of power, which generated credit for approximately 300,000 properties, including residences, businesses, farms, and others. The data is available on the interactive dashboard of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), based on information submitted by energy distributors. In March alone, approximately 56,000 plants were installed, totaling 584.36 MW. During the month, 55,707 solar photovoltaic plants, one wind farm, and one thermal power plant fueled by biogas from municipal solid waste came online. São Paulo was the state that stood out the most in the quarter, both in terms of the number of installed systems and capacity: 31,616 plants came online, totaling 273.88 MW. Goiás was the second state in terms of MMGD capacity expansion in January and February, with 223.29 MW, followed by Minas Gerais, with 205.52 MW. In terms of the number of installations, Minas Gerais ranked second, with 16,793 new plants, followed by Mato Grosso, with 14,864 installations. The MMGD capacity in Brazil is 38.4 GW According to Aneel, as of April 14, 2025, at 11:50 a.m., Brazil had 3.40 million systems connected to the electricity distribution grid as of March 31, with an installed capacity of approximately 38.44 GW. Residential consumers represent approximately 80% of the plants in operation (2.7 million), commerce represents 10% of the plants (340,830) and the rural class represents 8.61% of the plants in operation (292,710). |
